Why Choose Trading Hunts?

Trading Hunts began as a thought nearly a decade ago. Here in Southern Indiana, we have outstanding opportunities to hunt whitetail deer, feral hogs, and some excellent fishing spots for largemouth bass and catfish. I personally prefer bluegill, and our wide variety of pan fish. While we have an abundance of possibilities, we do not have the potential to hunt bear, gators, or the ability to fish for salmon or tuna. For years, people have been able to purchase guided hunts, for a cost. Those prices can add up very quickly, and not everyone can afford to do so.

Realizing all of this gave our founders an idea. What if they could create a site that connected hunters and fishers across the US, and would allow them a platform to communicate amongst each other, to trade hunts? For example, Wade is located down in the heart of Gatorville, USA. He already knows the best gator hunting areas, the top places to eat and sleep, and the easiest way to get around. Wade would love to hunt black bear for a change and could reach out to someone in Montana who might be looking to hunt gator. They can trade thoughts on lodging, places to eat, areas to hunt, and even local attractions they might want to check out while they're there. The best part is they could accomplish all of this, without the expense of a third party. This is the core reason that Trading Hunts exists.

While it has a main focal point, there are several other factors to consider. No great hunt comes without an even better story. This site gives you a place to share those tales and read posts by others. There are new recipes being submitted all the time, and opportunities to share your favorites as well. The very best thing about this site, in my opinion, is the comradery and friendships that come with it. Interacting with hunters across the states, comparing adventures, and sharing ideas is what keeps life interesting.

While I'm positive there are similar sites out there, I know the founders of this particular one quite well. There is no doubt in my mind that it'd be a challenge to find another site where the people leading the way would care more about your experience here. They are always looking for ways to improve the site, become more interactive, and ensure Trading Hunts becomes a site you can't wait to check in on daily. If you ever have a suggestion, please feel free to reach out.
