Cover Scent Soap, The Whole Story

Sometime around a decade ago my youngest son, Wyatt, took a serious interest in hunting deer, and with that came a need for all the necessities. One thing he was looking for was a cover scent soap that wouldn't irritate his skin, which wasn't easy and some soaps we found were pretty pricey. That's where I came in. I knew there were people making cold process soaps and selling them all over the place, so it couldn't be that complicated. I had yet to learn all the rules and variations that existed in the soap world.
After doing a lot of homework, and watching countless videos, I bought all the ingredients I decided I would need to create a basic unscented bar of soap. Next, we figured out together what kind of scent he would want and hit the woods to find those ingredients. Deer obviously love acorns, so we gathered up as many as we could find. Our woods are loaded with cedar trees, so we cut a few limbs. We did the same to create a persimmon and a hickory. A few more videos into our adventure, we figured out how to infuse the oils from our findings, into the purchased oils, and we were on our way. Through trial and error, we finally came up with a bar that satisfied his desire and made enough soap to sell some and see what others thought of our creation.
After that season life took back over, and while Wyatt had plenty of bars to last him a good while, I wasn't selling anymore. Sometimes life has a funny way of pulling us away from things we enjoy, to tend to the responsibilities of being an adult. Over the last few years, I have had several people ask if I was ever going to make anymore, and until recently, I honestly hadn't had the time to even consider it. Not until life changed its course again, and this website fired up. In the earliest stage of my involvement here, we discussed those soaps, and if I was willing to create them once again. I mentioned it to my son, and his gears began turning. Next thing I knew we were back into an adventure together again. Anyone with an 18-year-old knows if you find something that gets them to want to spend time with you, you do it. It's a rarity that I personally find quite enjoyable.
This time around we are changing things up a little, for the better. We've thought of 3 different scent combinations that we feel will offer the best benefit to hunters, are selecting oils based not solely off their lack of scent, but also their benefit to skin care. It doesn't matter how much you smell like your surroundings, if you're up in that stand scratching like a possessed monkey, the deer WILL see you. The process now includes multiple infusions of scent throughout the process, and even a change in the water used to create each batch. There are no dyes, no fragrance oils, and no product involved that will alter the scents we handpicked ourselves. I've done my share of research into cover scent soaps, and I give my word that we have done our very best to offer a product unlike anything else you will find online. From natural scents straight out of the woods, to a lather building, moisturizing soap that you'll enjoy enough to use on a regular basis.
We are both excited about this journey and can't wait to share it with all of you soon!
